Despite opposition from a diverse coalition of groups, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has given the proposed expansion of the Port of Palm Beach’s entrance channel its final approval.
Thursday, Army Corps officials said the Chief’s Report to deepen and widen the Lake Worth Inlet at Palm Beach Harbor has been signed. With the signing, the Corps is stating that the proposed dredging project is environmentally sound and economically beneficial.
